Carol
Schaeffer
began painting as a young girl in elementary
school in Philadelphia in the 1940s, attending Saturday art classes all
through grade and high school. She attended art classes in Germantown
and also at
what is now known as the University of the Arts at Broad and Pine
Streets in Philadelphia.
Much of her adult
life she was employed by architects and design centers, being able to use
her talent for rendering perspective drawings of projects. She attended as
many local art classes as her busy schedule with family and employment
allowed.
Now with her children
all grown, Carol has time to paint as much as she wishes. She paints mainly
landscapes in oil in Newtown Square and surrounding areas. A member of the
Newtown Square Preservation Society, she feels compelled to capture the old
buildings and scenes in the area before the developers capture them.
Carol serves on the
Board of the Artists' Guild of Delaware County, and the Art League. She
shows at many art shows in the area and has received ribbons at several.
Many of her works are part of public and private collections throughout the
United States. |
